Dallas Employee Benefits And The Need For Dallas Group Health Insurance Coverage

by Michael Chapman

In fact, today, only about half of all companies offer group health insurance as a benefit to their employees. Many service companies such as retailers also have a policy of hiring mainly part time workers who are not eligible for employee benefits such as group health insurance. And many low wage workers cannot afford the portion of the cost of group health insurance that the employee must pay for their own and their family's coverage. The average cost to insure an individual in a group health plan today is between four to five thousand dollars per year per person. If the employer pays for one half of the employee's health insurance and none of coverage for the employee's dependents, that means that an employee with a spouse and two children may have to pay between $1,000 to $1,500 per month for group health insurance coverage. For many low wage workers, this is not affordable, so the employee goes without group health insurance coverage, and rely on public hospital emergency rooms for health care.

These days, the workers are expected to bear at least a part of their health insurance costs. Even the companies that do bear these costs, it mostly covers the cost of Dallas group health insurance for the employee only. Naturally, you have to pay a higher premium for getting your spouse or child covered by the policy. A significant problem is the high premiums that smaller companies have to pay because the number of employees on whom the risk can be spread over is low. So how can the medical insurance be offered be offered by the employers and their costs kept low ?

Dallas group health insurance can often help small businesses attract a better quality employee. All other things equal, the employer that offers a competitive wage and employee benefits will have a more productive workforce than other employers in their area. Employees should still expect to pay a co-pay and to pay for a portion of the insurance premium. However, many smaller companies still must reduce the insurance coverage because their insurance rates are so high. What's the benefit if employees have a large dedution in par to cover a portion of the insurance costs?

The call for universal coverage has been addressed by many presidential candidates recently, but none have offered a concrete plan. this includes insurance for all americans not just employed individuals. Even though we spend more per capita than most of other nations, it will take many years before we see this happen because of our current system.

Some people like clerks, salespeople etc. work on hourly wage basis with no Texas group health insurance available to them. If they happen to fall sick they lose pay and what's worse, generally they have no health insurance. In case of sickness lasting more than one day their employers often require a note from the doctor before allowing them back to work. These people not only lose pay but must pay to return to work. These people are stuck at same kind of job almost throughout their lives.

Many employees of small companies will not receive basic group health insurance coverage or benefits because their company cannot afford the high cost. Government employees and employees of large companies in Dallas are often the only ones who get employee benefits now a days. Maybe workers unions should be supported once more.

A gerneration ago, your parents may have worked for one company and retired from that company, and they also had great Dallas employee benefits like health insurance, vacation, and sick leave. Those days are long gone, and it is becoming more and more expensive for smaller companies to provide these types of benefits to their employees. Some companies have begun to offer high deductible dallas group health insurance plans, that leave the employee respnsible for more of the major medical insurance expenses before the insurance plan will pay out. One thing that employees with high deductible Dallas group medical insurance plan can do is purchase a medical insurance gap plan. These plans are very affordable and will reimburse the employee for major medical expenses not paid for by the group health insurance plan.
