There seems to be a lot of people selling PLR (private label rights) eBooks these days. While that's not a bad thing, there are a few things you should be aware of before you buy any kind of private label rights eBook that you will use on your web site.

Although some private label rights eBooks allow YOU to profit financially, many others only benefit the individual responsible for their development. Some books are considered brandable, while the purchase of others includes Master Resale rights.

If you are interested in purchasing PLR eBooks, this is what you can expect from each different type:

Private Label Rights, or PLR eBooks: Purchase these and resell them or give them away as bonuses. Make sure to read the fine print in the license agreement, however. Frequently, these eBooks may only be used for a certain amount of time. Sometimes you can sell them and make a profit. You might also choose to give them as bonus freebies to new subscribers who decide to opt-in to your website. The majority of private label rights eBooks that are sold cannot be changed, and usually include links back to the creator's website. If you do decide to purchase these PLR books, you will reap the benefits of adding new people to your subscription list; however, the original distributor will also benefit from free traffic to his or her website - through yours!

Master Resale Rights: The majority of books described this way permit purchasers to make certain changes in the book before re-selling them. This type of PLR e-Book is more useful than the first kind because these include an original file that you can change. Check before making a purchase, however, as some do not. If you are not purchasing this original file in the book, the license can still be very useful because both the graphics and the sales letter have been prepared already. You can usually post this eBook on your website and begin making profits quickly. Your book will most likely contain both the name and the website included by the original creator; therefore, that website will still get free traffic from your site's visitors.

Brandable eBooks: This type of eBook is the most useful of all. Most of these are not purchased with a complete set of graphics, but you ARE able to include your Affiliate link in the PDF file and keep all of the affiliate profits you acquire. Additionally, most contain a graphic of the eBook itself, so you won't have to develop cover graphics to place on your website.

I did find a bad example of a brandable eBook recently. When I purchased it, I found a single link that was brandable. The eBook, however, contained TEN more links that were not brandable. Can you imagine? I got rid of that book right away! Even though it would have been helpful to make an affiliate sale from that single link, all of the remaining links in the book were branded with another marketer's affiliate link. That is not fair at all!

Unfortunately, there's no way to know if this is the case or not until you have purchased the brandable eBook, unless it's specifically stated on the sales page.

This should provide enough information concerning brandable eBooks to help you make a good choice. Your decision should be based partly on your goal for the use of the PLR or brandable book. Don't forget, your visitors will most likely keep your free eBook for quite some time, and YOUR affiliate link would always be right there waiting for them in a Brandable eBook.
